MADRIGALS

Auditioned* advanced choir of mixed voices for students in grades 9-12.  This is the premiere vocal ensemble at Alameda and is mostly comprised of 11th and 12th grade singers, but qualified underclassmen may be accepted upon a successful audition.  Similarly to Lyrics, the Madrigal Singers take their musical and vocal abilities to the next level, singing more difficult choral literature, demonstrating independence and initiative in the music-learning process, and performing at a higher level of mastery in performance. The Madrigals perform at the annual CU Madrigal Festival each fall, and will participate in competitive festivals in the coming years.  The Madrigals traditionally performs the annual Valogram fundraiser in February.
